Format of Academic Reading

3 long passages which are mostly taken from magazines, journals, books and newspapers.

The passages are basically for non-specialist audience but appropriate for those who are going to enter a university or seeking professional registration.

Duration of Reading Test

The total duration of the Reading module is 60 minutes. No extra time will be given to transfer the answers on the answer sheet. There will be total 40 questions to be answered.

Question types: –

1. Fill in the blanks (eg: – No more than three words and/or a number)
2. Multiple Choice Questions
3. True/ False/ Not Given or Yes/ No/ Not Given
4. Match Headings to written text.
5. Finding Information from the passage.
6. Matching the names of Writers/ Researchers or Scientists with the information given in questions.

Scoring Criteria: –

Each question carry 1 mark and then the marks scored are converted into bands.
